Arvind S. Pillai, Ph.D., is a Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Protein Design, University of Washington. As part of Institute Director and Nobel laureate, David Baker’s research group, Arvind focuses on engineering allosterically switchable protein assemblies and probing the origins of protein complexity, with major findings published in a range of high-impact journals, including Nature, Science, and Cell Reports. Dr. Pillai’s work has gained attention in Nature News and Chemical & Engineering News for advancing de novo protein design and exploring fundamental questions in protein evolution.
