Making Just-in-Time Oncology Trials Work: Overcoming Barriers and Unlocking Potential


As chief clinical officer at City of Hope® Cancer Center Chicago, Walter Stadler, M.D., F.A.C.P., oversees physician recruitment and clinical care for patients receiving treatment at our locations across Illinois, Southeastern Wisconsin and the surrounding areas.

Before joining City of Hope, he held multiple clinical and leadership positions at the University of Chicago School of Medicine, including Deputy Director of the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center and Associate Dean for Clinical Research.

After earning his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, Dr. Stadler completed a residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Chicago. He is board-certified in medical oncology and a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Association of Cancer Research and the Society for Clinical and Translational Science. In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Stadler continues to serve patients diagnosed with prostate, kidney, testicular or bladder cancer.
